The judges had a very difficult time as the standard was very high and showed just how creative so many of our pupils are. This week, Year 4 children at Herne View took part in the annual school play and what a triumph it was! The musical comedy ‘Porridge’ brought spoonfuls of sparkling songs and bowlfuls of belly-laughs to The Warehouse Theatre. Catchy tunes, fun dance routines, cheesy jokes and a comedy cow were the perfect ingredients for a brilliant production. Feedback from families

Last Friday, at Wadham School, CISP hosted a cricket tournament for Years 3 & 4.  Herne View entered 2 teams and we came 1st and 3rd! The children played incredibly well and we are super proud of them for bringing the trophy home! Thanks go to Miss Taylor and Miss Broom for accompanying the children.

Eight intrepid Year 6 and two staff enjoyed a day at Wimbledon this Monday watching the play on Court 2 which included the start of the doubles match with Jaime Murray. On the 6th June, all of our Y4s went to the Recreation Ground to represent the school at the town D Day Commemorations. A group of the children also read a poem called ‘D Day Heroes’ to dignitaries including the Mayor and Town Crier. They represented the school and the service impeccably and we hope it helps them to understand

This week saw Herne View hosting the final of the Ilminster Literary Festival Poetry Recital Competition and it was a pleasure to welcome the nine schools who brought eighteen exceptional finalists. All of the children who performed their poems from memory performed to a very high standard and the judges from the Literary Festival Committee had a very difficult decision.
