Church & Community

The Minster, Ilminster

We are a Church of England Voluntary Controlled School. As such, we enjoy very good relationships with the Minster and other local churches.

The Christian faith, and Christian values, are important to the school and are reflected in our day to day practice.

The Church of England are well represented on the governing body of the school. There is a representative of the Parochial Church Council, a representative of the Diocesan Board of Education and the Vicar (who is ex-officio).

The school is fortunate to be sited in the heart of the town and very close to the Minster. The children visit the church fairly regularly, both on educational visits and for special services.

The Vicar, Rev Jo Stobart visits the school regularly to take Collective Worship and be a part of our school community along with the Minster Curate, Rev Judith Swan.
