It was characters everywhere as staff and children at Herne View Church of England Primary dressed up to celebrate World Book Day. This year classes engaged in a range of activities including decorating all their classroom doors as their favourite books, creating book covers to decorate the school hall, older children going to read to the younger children and holding a book swap where children brought in books and exchanged these for tokens to ‘buy’ other books in our pop up book shops. The day was a great success in getting children to talk about reading and share their love of books and thanks go to the school English Leads Mrs Carver and Miss Woodley.
