Do enjoy some news from Harvey from Y5 for our recent Football competition: Last Thursday, 10th November, a team played in the Fun Football Tournament, run by SASP and the Sports Leaders of Bucklers Mead. We were very proud of our pupils as they participated in Remembrance services in our town this year. On the 11th November all of Years 3 to 6 went to participate in the Remembrance Service at the War Memorial in the Minster. Well done to Bertie for reading out a poem on behalf of the school. Children at Herne View Church of England Primary School have been supporting children across the world by donating Christmas Shoebox gifts to Blytheswood Care. The shoeboxes, which contain both useful items like stationery, soap, sponge, underwear and hair comb and fun items like toys and sweets were taken to The Minster where they were collected by representatives of Blytheswood Care

Last week we celebrated Harvest at The Minster with four very thoughtful worships where the children shared their feelings and thanks for our food and those who help grow and produce these across the World. Some of our class carnival floats are now on display in Ilminster Hair and Beauty and our thanks go to the Salon for this. We will also have a display in the showcase window from the 3rd October.

The sun shone as approximately 30 families and staff members took their decorated umbrellas on parade for Children’s Carnival. The children made a fantastic procession and they were rewarded by achieving the Spirit of Carnival trophy.

It was colours, streamers and sparkle everywhere as children brought out their decorated umbrellas on Friday to be judged by the Ilminster Carnival Committee. It was a very difficult decision in each of the classes and we were very proud of the creativity of all the children. Welcome to our new Herne View Church of England Primary Website which we are launching in readiness for the new school opening September 2022. Although there are only a few pages now, these will grow over the Summer until the full site is launched in ready for the new academic year.
