KS1 Letters and Home Learning guidance
Letters home will always be communicated via Class Dojo.
Please use the below suggestions as a guide to support your child’s learning throughout their time in Key Stage One. Class teachers will also provide any additional learning via your Class Dojo as and when required.
Reading:
- Daily reading practise for 15mins – (decodable book / phonics or spelling practise)
- Listening to stories throughout the week (shared reading book / bed time stories / audio books / online story
Writing:
- Weekly spelling practise – See below to download the spelling for Year 1 and Year 2.
- Handwriting and letter formation – By the end of Year 1 children are required to form their letters correctly, starting and ending in the right direction – see below our Little Wandle handwriting sheets and guides.
- Opportunities to practise writing at home - (journal, letters, stories)
Maths:
- Number bonds to 20
- Counting in 2s, 5s and 10s for Year 1
- Knowing 2’s, 5’s and 10 times table for Year 2
- Counting forwards and backwards from any given number up to 100
