Young Voices

This week Herne View hosted our annual Young Voices public speaking competition in conjunction with Ilminster Rotary. The event this year attracted eleven local schools and approximately two hundred young people took part in internal school competitions to give the eighteen finalists who came to Herne View on Tuesday evening. The standard was higher than ever and every young person who spoke for two minutes on how they would change the world spoke with confidence infront of a full hall of family, friends, staff from competing schools and Ilmisnter Rotary members. The judges were left with some very difficult decisions and whilst there were some very worthy winners and runners up, all the children who performed did extremely well. Congratulations to our two Herne View finalists and we couldn’t have been prouder of their speeches, both of which were delivered confidently and with a smile.
