Number day for the NSPCC
On Friday 7th February, Herne View Church of England Primary School in Ilminster took part in the annual NSPCC Number Day. This was a fantastic event where the school came together to celebrate and enjoy Maths in so many fun ways, as well as raising money for a very important charity.
The children were encouraged to come to school in the theme 'Dress as Digits' and get to grips with some fun and interactive Maths activities. It was great to see a buzz for Maths around the school with children excited to solve problems and enthusiastic about numbers. Erin in Year 5 said, 'Number Day was great because we could wear our own clothes and focus on number activities,'. Kevan in Year 3 stated, 'I love Maths!'. Alfie in Year 5 said, 'I like Number Day because we could do even more Maths,'.
Overall the event raised £216.29 for the NSPCC.
The day was arranged by the school’s Maths leads James Seaton and Emily Taylor who commented that that were proud to have marked this day and proud to have raised money for such a great cause.
